OTI – Dark Matter Light Collection
Jagged shards of acrylic evoke crystals
growing rhythmically around a cave interior.
The idea of a network of spherical caves lined with fine crystal growths was the inspiration for OTI. A thin slice through these caves creates the lamp’s form.
A mixture of industrial and organic forms, OTI is a distinctive, sculptural light. It can be placed individually as an accent or in
a larger number to create an impact in a space.
In 2010, the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter captured images of
black spots on the planet’s surface, which are so dark that nothing inside can be seen. Imagining what might lie below the surface of these mysterious holes sparked the ‘Dark Matter’ collection of lights,
in which each lamp was born from a separate hypothesis.
